REL 528SE

A rare limited special edition version of RELs highly regarded 528 subwoofer. This model features the same primary drive as the flagship G1 sub in a less expensive enclosure. Ie a 12" carbon fiber forward firing main unit driven by a 500W class D amp, reinforced by an additional 12" downward firing carbon fiber composite passive radiator. This thing has a lot of go in a 16" inch cube lustrous cabinet featuring 8 coats of glossy paint & chrome accents.

This model offers most of the same performance as the current REL S5 SHO model : but at a fraction of the cost.

This is the sub you want if you want the quickest sub you can find with the best / easiest integration with your main speakers. A very popular choice for planar speaker fans (Eg Quads and Magnepans). I used first with Magnepan 1.7s - then with 3.7s - and for music only. Never driven in anger for home theater. It was a noticeable upgrade from the T7 and T9 I had before. Only reason I'm selling is the 3.7s almost have enough bass on their own - and I now have dual JL E112 subs for dual HT / music use. This sub is actually a bit quicker than the JLs : but I just can't justify keeping for the marginal difference.

These are the subs for music lovers. If you want some woolly mammoth of a sub for big bottomed home theater use : this is not for you. Get a ported SVS or HSU.

I have the REL speak on cable (preferred connection), power cord and grill. I do not have the original box. I am able and experienced in properly packing HiFi component for safe travel.

Sub is in very good condition but does have some of the fine spiral scratches on the top that are common on high gloss finishes.
