Technics RS-1500

This deck was modified by Charles King (of King Cello fame) so that the internal electronics are bypassed and that the output is wired directly from the playback tape heads (which was replaced by a Nortronic for better quality).

This requires an external tape pre (like the King Cello).

This is a great entry in the wonderful world of tape!

Note that there is NO packaging for this. It's best picked up in person but depending on distance I might be able to deliver it. If it has to be shipped, we'll figure out something. :)

Marking this as AVERAGE condition because it has seen a lot of use and Audiogon's rules about condition are very specific. While it doesn't look bad, it obviously doesn't look new and any buyer would probably accept that and be purchasing for sound. That said, I (and my wife) had no problems with it on the top shelf of my rack.
