Cartridge is marked Sold for $325 as of 12/23/18.
Condition Update:  I have received emails from a couple of you asking about how straight the cantilever is relative to the body. The pictures suggest it leans a bit left, which would be toward the outer edge of an LP when played. I looked it over carefully and it does indeed lean a bit to the left when looked at from above. I called SoundSmith to make sure this was not normal, and Peter Green got back to me today to say it should be 100% straight from the body. He suggested if the angle is off only slightly that when the stylus is playing in the groove it should straighten out, and on visual inspection it does appear straight from the body during playback. Still, I can't say the cantilever is fully straight at rest.
Sale Update: Due to the cantilever, I have downgraded to 6/10 condition and reduced the price to $325. I have a buyer at that price and have marked this ad as "Sale Pending" and will leave it like that as I want to give the buyer a 7-day trial. If you are interested in purchasing it, should this initial buyer find it does not work best in his system, then send me an email and I'll put you on the backup buyer list.
Botton Line: The cartridge may be usable just as it is, and especially if you have the ability to mount the cartridge body at a slight slant to compensate for the angle of the cantilever. Or, at my asking price, you can buy it and put $250 more into a rebuild and can have a fully new cartridge for less than $600 (40% off the original price).
This is the original Zephyr made by SoundSmith and designed as a joint effort of VPI and Soundsmith specifically to be used with VPI uni-pivot arms. It is the original Zephyr cartridge. I am the second owner. The original owner put about 30 hours on it as he used it as a backup. I bought it to use with my Well Tempered Amadeus but it's really meant to be used with a VPI "uni-pivot" arm. I've put about 10-15 more hours on it but it's really too heavy (10.3g) for my Amadeus arm since I use very little dampening and the WT also has anti-skate (this cartridge was built for an arm that does not have anti-skate). Since I don't think I'll be able to buy a VPI uni-pivot arm or 'table anytime soon, I am listing to see if anyone can put it to good use.
NOTE: Sumiko headshell is not included.

I will cover shipping in USA at my asking price if the buyer covers the PayPal fee. I only ship within USA at this time.
