This is a custom piece tube line stage preamplifier by Jeffrey Jackson built a few years back, It uses one 80 rectifier tube and two 12B4A tubes and has S&B TX102 transformers for volume control. I bought it some months ago and wished I could keep it, but it has too much gain (approx. 16-18 dg gain) for my setup with high gain 2A3 amplifier (Don Garber) and 100+ db efficient speakers (Altec 604-8G). I was not able to vary the volume much. Otherwise it sounded great. I tried a few more things to make it work, but unsuccessful, thus this sale. I also have a few more spare NOS tubes for this unit which will be included in the sale. The unit is solid and heavy and cosmetically in good shape. Buyer pay shipping and PayPal.
