Amazing little amp! Includes 2 extra 6P15P-EV special mill spec output tubes and extra 6N1P-EV military grade dual triode ordered direct from Decware in 2016. Used vary rarely, but in very good condition - please see pictures. From the Decware Owner's Manual: "The SE84B features a circuit that is free of all unnecessary components. In the signal path there is one capacitor and two resistors.

The SE84B is also hand built, and hand point-to-point wired for maximum fidelity. There is no hook-up wire inside the amplifier, made possible by the close proximity of all the parts and overall small size of the amplifier.

The unit is self-biasing meaning that you will never have to bias it, even when tubes are changed. The circuit is also self balancing making it possible in a pinch to run different brand output tubes on each channel without negative results.

On the front of the amplifier there is a bias switch to control the operation of the input tube (6N1P). This switch offers the user two distinct different bias settings for the input tube, the result being two distinct different sonic signatures. You may operate this switch while listening.

There is a gain (volume) control on the back of the amplifier strategically located to be easy to access. This adjustable input level makes it possible to run the SE84B directly from any 2Volt line source such as a CD player.

This amplifier may also be bridged mono by paralleling the outputs of each channel. The black (ground) speaker jacks of each channel are not tied to the chassis ground, they float. This was done so that unusually applications may be accommodated by series connecting the outputs. In either of these modes (mono) the amplifier may be used as a mono-block with a power output of around 10 watts. During mono operation, you must have a signal on both input jacks.

With only 11 solder points between the input and output jacks of this single ended triode class A amplifier that uses NO circuit boards, it is usually a given that no other part of your hi-fi system is capable of surpassing the fidelity of the SE84B. This means that you will always hear the weakest component in your hi- fi system. In most cases this is the source, pre-amp, or cables, or all of the above. You would have to spend around $10,000.00 on a cost no object front end to actually hear the fidelity this amp is capable of.

Another way of looking at it, is that you will never be able to actually hear the amplifier, it only passes signal (no coloration's) so whatever you feed it is what you’re going to hear. Garbage in- garbage out, as the saying goes.

Tube replacement is non-cumbersome with this amplifier, as the output tubes, SVETLANA SV83’s are only around 7.00 ea. We recommend annual replacement of the output tubes. The rectifier (PHILLIPS 5Y3GT) should offer many years of trouble free service. The input tube SVETLANA 6N1P should also last for many years without the need for replacement.

This amplifier is configured to also accept your favorite brand of EL84/6BQ5 output tubes without the need for modifications of any kind. The input tube (heaters on pins 4 and 5 only) can be replaced with some 12AX7, or 12AT7, or 12AU7 also without modifications or re-biasing.

The SE84B takes around 30 minutes or so to reach maximum fidelity. Each amp is shipped with a pre- burn- in time of 72 hours. You can look forward to hearing the amp get better sounding the more it is seasoned. An amplifier that is used regularly for 20 years will probably sound better than one used for a couple years, as an example.

The input sensitivity of this amplifier is lower than normal, as it requires 2 volts to come to full power. This was done to eliminate unnecessary clipping in the hands of beginners, offer lower noise, and we found it generally sounds better. If you’re source has less than 2 volts of output, you will need a pre-amp to bring the SE84B to full power."
