Tritium Audio X-80 speaker Triphazer analogue processor (Very rare)-PRICE REDUCED

I am selling this pair that I have used for my home theater front speakers and my 2-channel system.  I purchased these years ago from Tritium audio.

 X-80 Triphazers

Please note that these are not the Standard X-20 speaker triphazers that triutium audio sells online. These were custom ordered X-80, and they are more powerful with regards to the effect.

 

Connection and setup

You attach the speaker cable to one end of the triphaser and a jumper between the triphazer and the speaker. I included the jumpers that tritium sent me which I never used as I use my own acoustic zen jumpers.

What do they do?

  I liked them a lot to the extent that I own 9 speaker level triphazers, one line-level triphazes, and 3 power level triphazers. They reduce the harshness, and brightness while giving the mid-range more bloom and the lower frequency more definition. They reduce listening fatigue and give overall a fuller and musical (more harmony) sound. In my home theater (DENON AVR 4806, B&W FPM speakers, Definitive technology SW) they sound marvelous. I have one on each front speaker and the center speaker. They sound natural and full. I like to watch to the Hobbit: the desolation of Smog(the dragon). When the dragon talks there is deep bass and fuller mid-range sound.

In the 2 channel system, they reduce fatigue and give a smoother sound. They take you from the hi-fi sound or realm to the realm of music. I noticed more harmonics and coherence of notes with the triphazers on. 

In short, they make audio systems more musical, less fatiguing and more convincing with regards to reality the presentation.

 I also, read that a reputable audio seller was using these during audio shows to make their speakers sound realistic. When the visitor looked behind the speaker and asked the vendor what is this, he said we call them “triphazers”!!!.

System specifications and requirements

Triphazers are not system specific. Though they have average rating of 175 W, they can handle any power range. I used them with amplifiers that produce 550 w to 800 W per channel. Also, they are not related to the speaker impedance. They can work on all speakers. from desk top computer speakers to large full range $18,000 speakers.

Break-in

According to tritium the require a long time to break in, in the magnitude of months. My experience is that it takes some time: weeks to months. According to tritium, most of the break-in time is required for the system to get used to the effect of triphazers especially the speakers.

Other's experience

Years ago I sold an extra line level triphazer I had to an audiogoner . He used it between the source and hybrid tube integrated amplifier.  He was so pleased with the sound and he emailed saying that even his wife noticed the changes and asked him what did he do to his system. 

History

I am the first owner. I am selling because I was using them for all surround speakers and I am not anymore. It makes sense to use them in speakers that have the full range and not only some effects.

Conservatively rated 8/10. I could see minor small blemish around the corner of one of them measuring 2 X1 mm (shown in the bottom triphazer in the last picture).

“I have known mike for long time . When I visted after about year, I was pulled in by mike saying I got it I got it! Mike say's listen, I heard some very clean sound. Where it was coming from I didn't know, I was thinking he got some new speakers. I went around the corner and saw these little junkie speakers. Not those,these I saw little black boxes. “The impact of the triphazer becomes even greater as the unit "breaks in". I too use the triphazer on my transport, but have found to have a similar impact using it on my preamp and DAC as well.The results were more articulate sound, smooth, blacker background, pinpoint image placement and enhanced definition of the air "space" around instruments.This is indeed the icing on the cake,when used with other excellent power conditioning tweaks. The beneficial effects of these devices are perhaps even more profound, but it takes longer for them to break-in with the system.

 As a way of compensating for its lack of recognition, Tritium offers a 90 day return privilege, but with the AC Triphazer, you will only need a few seconds to realize how good this thing is. If you have experimented and used components designed to improve power delivery, you already know that these devices can make a difference and are necessary to achieve higher levels of performance.
