I have had every audiophile speaker under the sun up to $40K horn systems and these things are the absolute best IMO all-around. They are as fast and colorless as ESLs with better dynamics.

And don't buy passive ATCs! These active speakers cream every passive crossover/external amp system I've heard. Read about the huge advantages of active amplification on ATC's website.

Likewise, don't prefer ATC's consumer line over the pro - these are the best ATC speakers with the best parts, and they are *not* "ruthlessly revealing" or any crap like that. Hey - your favorite music was likely mastered on these speakers or other ATC pro monitors.

For user reviews, look especially at pro audio sites - Sweetwater, etc.
