Audio Research VT-100 mkIII Factory original, in pristine shape.

This is an original MKIII, not an upgraded older version. It's in excellent shape, very clean, with it's tubes just tested and biased. I've just replaced it in my system with the Reference 250SE's and, in my humble opinion, the VT's are 90% of the 250SE's musicality while barely 20% of their price! Very sweet value indeed...

Reviewer comments on the character of the VT-100MKIII include: "Tube Resolution and dynamics are startlingly better: suddenly you can pick out each individual voice in a choir, you can hear the air gently modulated by a hundred diaphragms singing in unison in a great cathedral. Small and large details stand out in bolder relief, tightly focused, wonderfully holographic. Bass is tighter and more dynamic. It sounds as though the power has been increased, with a more effortless quality."

My unit's faceplate and cage look like they (almost) came out of the factory. Mini scratch on right handle that's barely perceptible. I've conservatively rated it 8/10.
