Audio Note Kits 3.1 Signature non-oversampling DAC. . I have owned this for six years and it changed my enjoyment of digital, bringing me closer to vinyl than other DACs. It allowed me to listen to classical music again on digital, which I'd all but given up on. Something Audio Note does makes their DACs more musical than even many hi res sources. I think it is the non-oversampling architecture. I have to sell this to pay for new speakers, otherwise I would not. This unit is only 8-10 years old.
This unit has many goodies like Mundorf Supreme and Black Gate caps, NOS Raytheon 5678 tubes, Audio Note copper caps, etc. It also has a BCN input and USB switch installed. A USB input could easily be installed.
It has operated perfectly since I have owned it, so it has been one of those bulletproof components thankfully. Cosmetically the top/sides are pretty much perfect, no scratches I can see. The faceplate and backplate look very good depending on the light, as is the way with black gloss finishes. In just the right reflected light you can see light scratches and marks here and there, so to avoid any buyer disappointment I rated the unit a 7. But functionally it is perfect and in most light it looks great.
Price is plus shipping and PayPal fee. Local pickup is fine too in St. Louis. I prefer shipping to CONUS only. I will overpack for safe travel.

| What is the mfg date? Hello and sorry for the delay in responding. I tried to look at the box to see if there were clues about shipping dates and such but unfortunately realize that the box I have is from my old audio note preamp and it's not the box for the dac itself, so that did not help. Then I pulled the cover and looked all around the inside and there is one clue which is on the power supply board and it says "Rev A (c) 2008". So this dac cannot be older than 2008, and easily could be newer. I bought it from a previous owner around 2013 so the age has to be between 6-10 years. My guess is more like 8-10 years.
Hope this helps and let me know other questions. The inside looks like new and it is beautifully put together. I think I recall the previous owner said it was factory assembled (can't remember 100% on this though), and it certainly looks that way to me.
