This is the result of a one time partnership between Meridian and Ferrari to provide a high performance, classic style compact audio system. Just like it's Ferrari namesake. The sound is high quality Meridian, rich, musical and full. The style and high gloss color was designed to emulate the Ferrari paint and looks great. 
This is a compact design with a relatively small foot print. This enables it to be used in rooms where you want great sound but it is not practical to use separate components, speakers, etc.. Such as a kitchen, bedroom or office. At 80 watts it can fill most rooms with surprisingly full high quality sound. These were in short supply for purchase at the time, and do not show up often for resale. 
I am the original owner, in a non smoking house. It has been used in a bedroom sparingly over the years. I have used it primarily with a Bluetooth receiver that connects to the optical input of the F80. I play music using my phone's Bluetooth connection. It sounds great and is a very simple setup. This has also greatly reduced the amount of time using the CD player.
