The Alumine 3 Way speakers you see here are state of the art speakers from Switzerland. In an all aluminum construction, the Alumine 3 Way is essentially the full range version of their award winning Alumine 2 monitor speakers where a separate bass module with an 8" proprietary woofer sits in its own cabinet under the Alumine 2 speaker. Bass response now is extended 15 Hz lower into 30 Hz versus 45 Hz on the Alumine 2. Highs still peak at 30 KHz for both speakers and sensitivity is the same at 93 dB with a nominal impedance of 8 ohm (but you should check if your amp can dip down to 4 ohm as the speakers do get down to 3-4 ohm). The take away when listening to these speakers are their speed, precision, tightness and clean imaging. These are speakers where you want every note to be "visually" presented on the soundstage. And because of their accuracy, they can also reveal any weaknesses in your system. Remember, these speakers were designed to be in a top tier system. So not only can it make your system sound great, it can also echo why your system sounds bad. Speakers at his level are ruthlessly revealing and do not take prisoners. The one good thing we can vehemently endorse with these speakers are that you are getting as close as a sound with their ultra expensive Reference Ultime without blazing away your bank account. Jumpers connecting the bass module to the Aumine 2 are specially ordered ribbon jumpers. Each weighs about 165 lbs. Cosmetically, the speakers are in very nice condition with just minor scuff marks from use. One very careful owner since new. Speakers are shipped in five boxes and due to their weight and size, will have to ship freight where they will be strapped on a pallet.
