It gave the music a more "you are there" feeling and does add additional detail to the music that I was not hearing previously.

I have the original configuration (as designed by Ron Sutherland) with the power cord coming out the back and the two wires that connect to the 20/20 out the front. Chad had told me it his preferred design seeing there is less wire in the signal path even though it is not as "clean" with wire management.

I have mine on a shelf above the 20/20 the two front wires under the power supply then down to the 20/20 underneath the back side and then up in the empty chassis space of the 20/20 and then plug in the left and right jacks

I cannot recommend it enough it has put the 20/20 into another level!!"--

What's wrong with the stock switching power supplies?

We don't think there's anything wrong and neither do the hundreds of 20/20 owners out there.  The dual switching power supply modules have provided quality DC power for years.  A linear supply is much more expensive to make and just didn't lend itself to the stock 20/20 design goals. What we do know is that we've had many requests over the years for a linear supply and that in many systems people have found significant improvement.  We won't go into what our opinions are because every system is different but will say that this is very solid engineering and these components are used in products costing many times the 20/20's price. This is a genuine Ron Sutherland designed board assembled in the USA and we guarantee it's quality.

Where's the case?

This bare bones unit was designed without a case for several reasons.  Adding a case in line with the quality of Sutherland's others would add hundreds of dollars to the retail price and is not totally necessary.  A lot of customers may prefer to buy their own case and customize it as they like.  For about $50 you can find many options. The bottom board protects from any accidental high-voltage contact if you want to use it without a case. The top of the board is low voltage and not dangerous. NOW AVAILABLE Black or Gray powder coated chassis for an additional $100. 

The unit includes 2 - 6ft DC cables and 1 - 6ft AC cable. Just remove the 20/20 cover and old cables, plug in the new ones and you're ready to go.
