Only used for a couple weeks! How did I find this rare amp? Many Japanese brands make higher spec'd gear that never makes it to the US (do a search- there's lots of great stuff that we never see), so when I was shopping for a Yamaha A-S2100 (or Parasound HINT 6) but wanted to see what was comparable and found this amp in Japan. It's 100v, but I'll include the $200 Nissyo Step Down transformer to convert it to 110v- it's high quality and made in Japan. (If you buy any Japanese gear, plan for an extra $200 for a decent step-down; don't buy the cheap Chinese junk because they have a reputation for failure.) The specs on the Denon were better than the Yamaha (and I didn't like the HINT for various reasons)- much higher damping factor, analog-only setting, and it included a high-quality DAC! Similarly, it has a discrete headphone amp and a discrete phono stage (both MM and MC, although I only used the MM section). I used both the headphone amp and the phono section and they sounded great. (I never tried the DAC.)
This amp is totally overbuilt, and if you only know Denon from the AVR world (think: Best Buy), you don't know this Denon. Actually, if you only know the US-version [modern] Denon, you are missing out on a lot of quality components.
It's very accurate and the 80wpc (8 ohms) and 160wpc (4 ohms) seem much more powerful than that; my speakers are inefficient at 87db (Ohm Walsh 3) and I can only get the [giant] volume knob to 9:00. This thing should drive any speaker (the high current helps)- even planars.
Why am I selling so soon after going through all the time and trouble of import fees, customs, shipping, etc.? This was a catch and release for me. I've been using tubes for the last 15+ years and wanted to try a high-quality SS amp, but wanted an all-in-one box, which was hard to find. Although I love the bass slam and incredibly clear highs, I must admit I like the way tubes color the sound (I'm not a purist- I love the TONE CONTROLS on this thing!).
You can download the British manual (my manual is Japanese). Also, the remote has not been used but if you have a Denon DCD-2500 Premium Super Audio CD player, this will control that.
Original shipping box included. (Double boxed.)

I paid almost $3k for this (including the step down.) I'm taking a huge loss.

Here are some specs (aside from what I already mentioned):
- Tone controls are defeatable but can do +/- 8dB
- DAC - Advanced AL32 Processing Plus supporting 384-kHz/32-bit PCM input
- 2 Digital Optical and 2 Digital Coaxial inputs
- Analog mode allows it to operate as a fully analog amp
- Weighs 55 pounds (shipping's going to be expensive)

I added a couple stock pics because I don't take great photos. If you are near NYC, maybe we can meet to avoid shipping.
