Marantz 7t EXCELLENT CONDITION, PERFECT OPERATION, 2 PHONO'S, 3 EQ'S, TONE CONTROLS!

Former Marantz designer, BOB HOVLAND has just gone completely through the unit cleaning the pots & switches and testing every function – it’s in GREAT shape!

If this model was made today it would cost $5000! Look inside! It’s entirely point-to-point wiring. And look at those ‘switched capacitor’ tone controls! NOBODY builds preamps like the 7T. Furthermore, this unit is totally original and amazingly clean inside.

If you collect AND listen to 78’S and LP’s from the 50’s, you might think they are incompatible with a high fidelity audio playback system. You are RIGHT! All 78’s were intended to be played back without equalization and many early LP’s require a different equalization from today’s RIAA standard. Consequently, when you play a 78 or early LP through your new 21st Century preamp they sound AWFUL!

The Marantz 7t has separate circuitry for all 3 types of phonograph records: modern LP’s, early LP’s and 78’s!

Since all 78’s are mono and are intended to be used with a spherical stylus, you will probably always prefer listening to a 78 with a spherical stylus. But you will want a hyper-elliptical stylus when listening to a record from 1965 or later. This conundrum can only be resolved by using 2 turntables. That is going to be troublesome unless you are using a preamp with inputs for 2 turntables.

The designers of the 7T anticipated this problem and built the 7T with 2 phono inputs which allow for the convenient use of 2 separate turntables.

Rumble and tape hiss were problems with older discs, too and the 7T has switchable filters that deal with those respective problems.

Basically, the 7T is the BEST preamp available for optimizing the sound of the 78’s and old LP’s.

Does your buddy want to bring over his tapes to play for you but you don’t own a tape deck? No problem. With the 7T he can plug his tape deck output into the front panel.

Is your right speaker next to a door way and the left one in a corner producing VERY different frequency responses? No problem. With the 7T there are separate left & right treble and bass controls.

The Marantz 7T preamp solves a LOT of problems!

As you may know, the 7T looks EXACTLY like the 7C tube preamp from Marantz which was its predecessor. Yes, the 7T is all solid state and has all the same features. However, you won’t get any tube microphonics with the 7T and the superior signal to noise ration will give you blacker backgrounds, too.

Bob Hovland has added one feature to this unit: he added a relay that allows the preamp (and the amp it drives) to warm up before it sends a signal - a delay of 1 minute, 45 seconds.
