EAR 88PB

Very well cared for EAR 88PB phono preamp for sale.  Vacuum tube phono preamp with two switchable inputs (1 mc/mm selectable with transformer step up for mc, 1 mm), transformer coupled balanced/unbalanced outputs and volume control.  No line level preamp needed for an all vinyl system.  I originally bought this when I had gone away from a dedicated line level preamp and used a simple switchbox to go between phono and digital.  I have since gone back to a line level preamp, primarily to avoid the sub-standard digital volume controls found in pretty much any non-megabuck DA converter.  Doing that made a big improvement in my digital playback, little to no change in the phono; this is testimony to how good the analog out/volume controls on the 88PB are (pre-amp being compared to is an Ayre KX5-20). I’m trying to move to a simpler analog rig and don’t need the output stage/volume control anymore. Performance is what you would expect from a Tim de Paravicini tube design.  Cosmetics are IMO very very good, but am rating it an 8 to avoid any buyers remorse.  I have additional tubes of various flavors if you are interested.
