TECHNICS SL-1100A DIRECT DRIVE TURNTABLE CIRCA 1972
JELCO SA-750D TONEARM
NEW ORTOFON 2M BLACK MOVING MAGNET PHONO CARTRIDGE
SUPERIOR ANALOG REPRODUCTION
This listing is for a vintage Technics SL-1100A direct drive turntable. This unit has been tested and is in 100% operational condition. Both 33 and 45-RPM speeds are correct with no drift, all controls are working perfectly, neon strobe lamp steady with no flickering. The record mat looks like new. All four (4) of the feet are in perfect shape with no deteriorated or broken rubber and all the felt pads on the bottom are completely intact. I have also lubricated the spindle bearing with the correct oil purchased from KAB. The motor and bearing are absolutely quiet. FYI this also has the nylon sub-platter locking fittings to prevent motor rotation during shipping which will be set prior to packing. Cosmetic condition of the table/motor unit is very good with minor signs of use and wear.
The Jelco SA-750D is from my private stock. I purchased this in 2015 and used it on a Linn LP12 (Ortofon TA-110 now on LP12) for 3 years and it has been in the factory carton since. I fabricated the armboard from cherry hardwood stock using the original aluminum Technics as a template. The board has been protected with 3 coats of clear water based polyurethane finish. The tonearm cable is also a Jelco I purchased it with the arm but never used it until now. The SA-750D arm is clean, in exceptional condition, and operates perfectly. The only signs of use are from the setscrew adjusting VTA when I had it mounted on the Linn. I have never used the silicone oil-dampening feature on the arm so the cup under the top cap is absolutely clean. You will receive the sealed unused silicone fluid that came with the arm.
The Ortofon 2M Black moving magnet phono cartridge is new. I have been playing several LP records to evaluate the operation and the sound of this set up and find no faults. The cartridge will break-in and sound even better after a few more hours. Read the reviews this is one of the finest MM cartridges available today.
I have been building and setting up turntables for over 45 years. This unit has been meticulously set up for proper analog LP playback. Spindle to center hole distance is the correct 214 mm and the stylus overhang has also been set to the required 15 mm. LP surface is perfectly tracked from outer to inner groove with no eminent distortion or miss tracking. Audio quality of this table is exceptional you will rediscover your LP collection. This is a high-resolution instrument that will reveal the true quality (condition) of your LP records.
Included are the original cartons for the Jelco and Ortofon. Accessories supplied are Jelco spindle to pivot plastic template, silicone-damping fluid, manual, Ortofon tracking force scale, stylus guard, stylus brush, screwdriver, and manual.
