Sony XL-88 top of the line MC cartridge best Sony ever build

I sell Sony XL-88 cartridge . This was and is top of the cartridges produced by SONY.

The cartridge was sold in Germany for 3500DM and was as expensive as Volkswagen in it’s days.

The cartridge is in good operational and cosmetic condition. The cantilever is straight and stylus is sharp. The stylus is so tiny, even my microscope does not pick it up quite well.

However the cartridge plays and tracks great- no issues at 1.3-1.5 gram

Sony top line cartridges are overlooked by modern collectors and audiophiles. But playing most of the cartridges produced and having most of them on hands, I can grade this cartridge very high.

The sound is very unique and Sony XL line produces tremendous soundstage similar to old school horn systems, but without harsh sibilants. Listening Sony ones and you will remember it’s uniqueness forever.

The cartridge comes with the plastic shipping box.
