Playback Designs Merlot DAC & Pinot A/D w/Factory Modded Oppo player

Here we have an INCREDIBLE digital rig - The Playback Designs Merlot DAC, Pinot A/D and the Playback factory modded Oppo UD203 - this connects with AT&T Fiber Optics - the results are perfection.

I can honestly say I haven't heard too many better than this - every input has an incredible capability of giving digital a lifelike presence...it's uncanny. The fact that this can decode any PCM and ANY DSD (out to quadruple speed!) is reason enough to say that this is absolutely one of the best on the market.

The bass is dead on - tight, punchy, full. The highs are expansive - giving off a huge soundstage in the process...The mids...normally, most high dollar DAC's tend to scoop out mids - favoring "detail" for accuracy - not this. The mid range is present and blossoms in front of you, giving a REAL image and soundstage that you can sink your teeth into!

The Pinot A/D is no different - I digitized into a Tascam DA3000 using the Pinot - it's head and shoulders above what the Tascam (which is no slouch on its own) is capable of. Same characteristics as the DAC.
UPDATE! I will sell the DAC and Player separate from the A/D - email for pricing!

The units are all 2 years old, so it's still within specs and I believe PD supports with firmware upgrades as they create them.
