The Dialogue is a culmination of Swiss engineering and French expertise in speaker drivers (Focal). The 7" mids and bass woofers and tweeters are made by Focal for Goldmund (under their specifications) in what is to become, one of the most musical speakers from Goldmund that is actually affordable to many audiophiles. With each speaker weighing close to 120 lbs, these are quite hefty floorstanders. They stand 46.5" tall and about 14" wide and deep. Nominal impedance is between 4-6 ohms but with a sensitivity of 96 dB, are pretty easy to drive. Goldmund recommends a minimum of 10W to 100W. Frequency response is 37 Hz to 20 KHz. These speakers are very easy to install in the room. They are not overly picky with placement but as long as it is logical, you will be treated to a really wonderful musical experience. We had the speakers about 6 feet apart (slightly toed in) and 2 ft from the side walls and 3 ft away from the back. And they were incredible - fast, detailed, punchy dynamics and a reproduction scale that seems to swallow up our medium sized listening room. All the drivers were recently sent back to Focal in France for new surrounds and full inspection to ensure it is back to spec. No expenses were spared in this trip home so you can trust in the quality of the work done since they were not sent to the "corner repair" shop.

Finish on the speakers are ivory or light beige and looks really good overall with just a few minor nicks and scratches that were subsequently touched up. Grille covers are almost new and never installed on the speakers as the previous owner didn't want the black grille covers to conceal the beauty of these speakers. The foam pieces that go round the recess area around the tweeter is worn out but can stay on if you put double sided tape behind it. Or you can use the speakers without it, no impact on sound. Local pickup preferred but if shipping is required, they will be shipped strapped on a pallet.
