Of the many Carver C-9 Sonic Hologram units that I have rebuilt over the years, this unit is about as good as it ever gets in terms of cosmetics. The paint is nearly perfect, and the front panel only shows two very small scuffs. These are not likely seen unless you are very close to look at the unit with a critical eye. On the inside, it is simply incredible how many parts have been replaced for the upgrade process. Over 30 capacitors, and over 30 resistors as well have been replaced with the best products that could be considered a leap forward compared to the originals. But as the years went by, I added to the list for my rebuilds to include a new, more robust power transformer, faster (and cap bypassed) diodes, and RCA jacks that aren't just prettier, but an actual improvement over the originals. Then there are the less noticed ideas such as a detachable power cord, external fuse holder (on the newer models) and even better feet that are not old hard rubber, but rather silicone based, and softer.  Included in this sale is the last original owners manual that I have. In spite that it is less perfect than the unit itself, it is rare to find one in the field anymore.  Of course a power cord is included, and i will conclude by saying that I am always there for any advice or even discussion of the product and it's use/benefits.   For the few that may not know about this unit, it was invented by Bob Carver back in the 1980's. It became the most successful product that he ever sold. The idea is simply to produce a 3D sonic image using cross cancellation signals, some delay, and a bit of frequency shaping (EQ). The result is often dramatic with some recordings, as this is one requirement; that the recording be of sufficient quality and multiple miking so as to give the hologram unit something to work with. Fortunately, many or most recordings enhanced by the use of this product. After 40+ years in audio, it is the one device that keep in my system. At the Carver Site, you may read much more about this unit, and it's ability to deliver a new and wide soundstage to your system.
