Aric Audio Special SE KT88/150

This is a continuation of my "I have too many amplifiers" sale, and up for your consideration is an upgraded version of my "Special KT SE" stereo single-ended amplifier on my website. This amplifier is VERY powerful and controlled for a single-ended- producing up to 25 watts per channel using KT150 power tubes in U.L. mode (included). Much flexibility is offered with the ability to switch operating modes of the tubes. Either Ultra-Linear mode (U.L.), or Triode- strapped mode. Triode mode gives an extremely close to 300B presentation, whereas U.L. mode is more powerful, upfront and provides much more current and control over the bass range. There's also a current switch which in the low setting allows the use of EL34 and KT88 tubes, and in the high setting allows more power to be obtained using KT120 and KT150 tubes. My personal favorite (and what is included with this amplifier) are the KT150's in Triode mode, with No Feedback (feedback is fully variable/ defeatable via a rear panel control). The amplifier produces 16 watts per channel in this mode and sounds VERY close to a 300B PSET- producing the same type of midrange realism, with the addition of very clean highs and very taught and deep bass. 
This amplifier is the same as the one on my website that retails for $3,500 but with a few additions.
1) The power supply is an exclusive all Film-capacitor power supply for faster rise/decay times and very low ESR.   2) The driver stage has been updated to use both 6SN7 as well as 6SL7 tubes- so the amp can be used with or without a preamplifier (there is a rear panel volume control to adjust the volume of the amp).   3) This unit features Bias meters to visually see whether the amp is in high current or low current mode, and also when it starts to move from Class A to Class AB.   4) This unit uses a large filter choke mounted on the top plate- in front of the power transformer. The larger choke is very low DCR which provides better bass response.   5) This unit uses a pair of OD3 voltage regulator tubes to regulate the driver tube providing a rock solid B+ for the driver to drive the power tube.   6) Transformer covers are omitted in this build. 
My price for this amplifier with the upgrades is $4,000, and I am selling this one- which is my own personal unit- built in January 2019- for much less than that. It comes with all tubes include and also a full 2 year manufacturer's warranty that is honored by myself. I've been in business building tube gear for 12 years and will be here should anything need attention with this amplifier.

This amp can drive 4 or 8 ohm speakers, can be used with or without a preamplifier, it can use any of EL34, KT88, KT120 or KT150 tubes and can run any of these tubes in Ultra-Linear Mode, or Triode mode with variable feedback. I feel it's the most flexible and best sounding single ended amplifier available using these tubes!
