Audio Research SP-20 Killer Headphone + Phono

The Audio Research SP-20 is highly desirable and collectible. It already has assumed the status of a audio icon. Up for sale is a perfect condition silver Audio Research SP20 pre-amp with phono and glorious built-in headphone amp. This unit is the best ARC preamp I have ever owned and the only one made by Audio Research with a headphone jack and killer headphone am built-in.
I have the original packaging, remote, ARC manual. This unit was purchased from The Music Room when my CAT SL1 Renaissance Black Path Edition Preamp was at Ken Stevens' shop for a brief time. This is the only preamp I adjudge close enough to the CAT to have purchased for use in its absence. There are two and only two problems with the SP-20 that has no impact on its sound or operation whatsoever. Somebody attempted unsuccessfully to drilled out one of the top screws leaving the top of the screw stripped. The second looks like a finger nail scratch on the top right front corner only visible with the closest of inspection from the top. I was made aware of the fact when I purchased the SP-20 from The Music Room and you may verify same with TMR. Neither could be captured on my phone camera. Otherwise, the SP-20 is flawless. With the CAT back in rotation, it make no sense to keep this fantastic SP-20 stored. Hence, the reason - and the only reason - for the 610 scoring!
