Jadis JD-3 Tube Luxe CD Player/Transport

Relisted due to a non-payer buyer.

Jadis JD-3 Tube Luxe CD Player/Transport in very good overall condition.  Separate power supply.  115V. 
This Tube-Luxe model is rarely seen on Audiogon.

Entire unit is excellent cosmetically, and operates very well either as a stand-alone CD player, or as a Drive/Transport with connected separate DAC.  Has outputs for Optics, AES-EBU, and RCA/Coax.  Main unit employs two 12AU7 tubes in the DAC section.

Remote control is included; however, it works when it wants to, and is unreliable.  
 
Several metal tines that hold the CD in place fell off one at a time, over time, due to a weak design (similar to the weak tines in a CD jewel box) that Jadis later corrected.  This player was brought to a Jadis technician who remedied this effectively and lastingly.  The player now holds a CD, centered solidly on the spindle, rotates dead-straight, and performs normally with the magnetic puck sitting properly.  See photos.

Will be packaged safely in two separate cartons.  Will ship only to the CUSA, with a flat rate cost that will be lower than my actual UPS cost for the two heavy boxes. 

Because of the unreliable remote control (which could be replaced with a Universal) and the tech repair of the CD placement tines (should last forever) I have adjusted to a low, fair, asking price for this JD-3 Tube Luxe which is very nice overall.  The asking price for the sparse JD-3 Luxe units I have seen for sale on Audiogon the last few years was around 3K.  Reasonable offers will be considered; request no low-ball.
