Outstanding speakers in a Rosewood veneer. Rare on the used market,the SE differs from the standard models in the drive units they employ, Contour 1.8 mkII woofers and Contour S tweeters. Having owned both standard Audience versions and the 1.8, I would describe their sound as a more refined 1.8.mkII.

Rated a conservative 7 to be safe, I cannot find a flaw on either cabinet or grille however, there is a tiny dimple on one tweeter. That does not affect its performance whatsoever as confirmed by various acoustic measurements, sine wave sweeps, FFT and RTA and of course listening tests.
