Wonderful sounding Conrad-Johnson Evolution 2000 in perfect working order and very good physical condition.
There are some light marks on the very lower edge of the faceplate and very light signs of man-handling on the chassis as you can see in the photos. These minor blemishes do not detract from the quality of this amp, they’re to be expected on a piece from this era.
I mentioned ‘man-handling’ above because this unit is a beast! It has a massive power supply contributing to a total weight of 115 lbs,  I
purchased this unit a couple months ago from a reputable dealer in the Richmond VA area. The dealer fully inspected and tested the amp and installed s $400 set of four NOS Jan tubes. (That’s the price I was told, I have not tried to verify it).
This has performed flawlessly in my system driving the easy load presented by my Dunlavy speakers but is really massive overkill for what I need. If you read reviews you’ll hear about people driving extremely difficult speakers with the Evo 2000 with great success. It puts out 200watts into 8ohms and I suspect it will double into 4.
How does it sound?   This is perhaps one of the most natural sounding amps I’ve owned, and I’ve owned a lot of amps! My last serious amps were Spread Spectrum Technology Ampzilla 2000 monoblocks, and I thought they had a nice neutral character.
The big Evo is every bit as open and neutral with just a hint of extra body and warmth from the tube input stage. This is not your classic sounding syrupy tube amp, it holds its own with any of the leading modern amps that I’ve heard.

Using a Thor TA 1000 preamp and the Dunlavy III speakers, with vinyl played by a Music Hall MMF11 Turntable, the system is capable of presenting a huge and detailed soundstage with excellent dynamics and not a hint of fatigue. Bass in my system is augmented by a subwoofer but it’s barely in use as the Evo 2000 muscle amp manages to wrestle extended and tuneful bass from my relatively bass-shy speakers.

As I’ve said, it’s too much amp for my needs and I also want to move my system into a second floor room, and this thing is just too heavy to deal with for my old bones!
Right now I’m preferring local pickup. I’m a couple hours or less from Raleigh/Durham NC, and close to Richmond VA. I would be prepared to drive a couple hours and meet somewhere, or better still- why not take a drive to Brodnax VA, bring some vinyl or CDs and hear the amp for yourself!
If you want it shipped I can purchase a heavy duty shipping carton from Uline and make sure it’s properly packed, but it will be expensive!
