Composite Products CF-2010 Component shelf platform. I had two, sold the other one so this is last one left - these don't come up too often so great chance to get a great electronics platform for a great price!
Size: 18" x 16" x1.75"

I am the original and only owner - purchased new from Composite Products. This was used on the top shelf of my custom CMS component stand for my Audience Ar12 Power Conditioner (see last image). It was covered during non-use in a dedicated listening room.
Condition is an 8 due to some ghosting if viewed at certain angles in strong light.

Please do not attempt purchase if outside Continental U.S.

PAYMENT TERMS:
Cash if local pick-up (local pick-up is always welcome and preferred) or PayPal if shipped. I will only ship to a verified Continental U.S. address.

SHIPPING TERMS:
Flat Shipping Fee to Continental U.S. of $25 includes both shipping and insurance. Shipping will be via FedEx and I will ensure it is safely padded and packed in original carton and then placed in an outer carton with appropriate packaging for safe delivery.

Manufacturer Information:
Composite Products designs, manufactures and markets high performance carbon fiber anti-vibration racks, platform shelves and accessory feet and mounts for the high-end audio/video and scientific markets. Our products dissipate vibration from internal and external sources including airborne over complete operational frequency ranges.

We are dedicated to providing high performance products that will allow the listener/viewer to fully enjoy the experience of accurately reproduced audio and video. We achieve this goal by utilizing carbon fiber composite materials and various engineering plastics in our products resulting in virtual elimination of vibration in the components over the complete frequency range.

There are several steps in high quality audio/video reproduction. Starting from a high quality recorded media, CD or LP, the reproduced signal transfers from a player to a pre-amplifier, amplifier and others to speakers. This is a serial transfer and requires a well matched high performance component system for a high quality reproduction. Vibration interferes with the operation of various components distorting the signals.

Vibration of all sorts is the biggest detriment to high quality music reproduction as it distorts analog or digital signals and causes loss of details and harmonics. Properly designed anti-vibration products, like our racks/shelves /feet/mounts, dissipate vibration at various frequencies, converting vibrational energy to heat. Carbon fiber is one of the best anti-vibration materials. Glass and metals are the worst. While the support structure in our racks, platform shelves and feet are exclusively made from hundreds of layers of carbon fiber composite, we utilize other engineering plastics like fiberglass and acrylic in our products. Our simple and elegant design takes advantage of carbon fiber, acrylic and other materials?mechanical properties and beauty in an ingenious way.

Apart from providing a convenient housing for equipment, the rack's main job is isolating the equipment from vibration. There is no question that vibrations degrade the sonic performances of preamps, digital processors, CD transports/computers and particularly turntables. This vibration is generated by transformers in power supplies, motors from turntables and CD transports (and computers) and from acoustic energy impinging on the electronics.

Vibration affects electronic products through a phenomenon called microphony. A microphonic component emits a small electronic signal when vibrated; in other words it acts like a microphone converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. This energy pollutes the signal resulting in degraded musical performance. Tubed products are particularly susceptible to vibration. If fact you can shout into a tubed preamp and hear your voice come out of the speakers. Digital products are also degraded by vibration but through a different mechanism. The crystal oscillators' in many digital processors change their frequencies slightly when vibrated. Although this is slight, even small timing variations can wreak havoc with digital audio systems.?
