Tang Band W8-1772

Selling my Bob Brines designed standmount speakers based on the very highly regarded Tang Band W8-1772 8" Neodymium Full Range Driver. This is a crossover-less, single driver, point source speaker that can be driven with just a few watts. If you have ever wanted to hear these phenomenal full range drivers here is your chance to own a pair complete in cabinets for the price of the drivers alone.

About the cabinets. I am a woodworker by profession and have built dozens of speakers over the years. I built these with plans from the now retired Bob Brines who designed this enclosure specifically for this driver. This is the Model TB-20 cabinet. The speakers are 24" H x 11-1/2" wide x14" deep. Per Bobs design these cabinets are lined with cement board and are quite heavy so local pick up only. These are veneered with Australian Blackwood. You will be hard pressed to find a more beautifully veneered cabinet. My personal opinion or course ;-). I had been saving this veneer for years for a special project and at the time this was the it. The speakers are in very good condition with about three years of age on them. They are internally wired with silver coated stranded copper wire from VH audio. I am selling these to make room for a new pair of Spatial Audio M3 -TM open baffle floor standers. A recent move that included a dedicated listening room has allowed me to step up to some floor standing speakers.
