Up for consideration is a pair of used Sonus faber Olympica II floorstanding speakers in Charcoal color. They look more like a fine piece of home furniture actually.
These are the "entry" level of true Sonus Faber floorstanders that are hand made in Italy. Make no mistake this is much better than the Venere series with a very smooth but details sound, and the bass is just right and not overdone like a lot of lesser speakers. They project a very deep soundstage and image quite precisely for floorstanding speakers. However, they do require some serious horsepower to make the most out of it (especially the midrange). I used to have a Krell Evo 302 to power it and it was a wonderful combination. The cheapest standalone stereo amplifier I tried was the NuForce STA200 (which is on sale for 409USD); or the 125ASX2 ICE module amp I soldered. I tried with a Denon AVR-X5800H receiver while it maintains a somewhat good bottom end but the midrange was a tad thinner. Integrated I used before that drove this well were the Yamaha A-S2000, A-S2100. Pretty sure others can do the job but just that I didn't try any other integrated with these speakers.
The speakers have some sign of use (mainly dusts) and one of them got some white pecks that were dropped from the ceiling and they got stuck a little (see one of the photos). They are back in their boxes with original packing material, plus all the accessories sans the connecting bridge. I will give you a new set of jumper wires from "World Best Cable" made from Mogami cables as replacement. The bridges were lost by the previous owner anyway and I bi-wire the speakers.
I'm looking for local pickup at this point as these are fragile to be shipped (and will require freight). They are not big but they are heavy (~70 pounds each) so be prepared. These are sold as pair (as you can see the bass port is on either side and they are mirror image of each other) and the price is for the pair.
