Linn Klimax Renew DSM

This is a recent version of the Klimax DSM preamp/network streamer by Linn that the guts or circuitry has been moved to the "Renew" box or chassis. This is done when a Klimax DSM owner upgrades to the latest version. Rather than discard the perfectly wonderful insides, Linn offers a much more affordable box or chassis for it that the owner can buy and then put their Klimax board into and make it into a first rate preamp/ streamer that can be used in a second room or system. Thus, nothing is wasted and the circuitry is re-purposed in a second more basic chassis. Waste not, want not! A bit confusing perhaps, but basically, you end up with a $23,000 streamer preamp in a plain and simple box, but the superb audio performance is still there! Yes, the $23K version does sound a tad better, but look at the price diff! The DSM can stream in up to 24bit quality from Hi-Rez files or Qobuz, or 16 bit from Tidal or perhaps your own computer files. Stream more than 100,000 internet radio stations too! In addition, this piece serves as a preamp for other analog or digital sources (coax and optical inputs) and even has HDMI inputs and an output if you wish to play your cable box, BluRay player or other HDMI source thru it! (2 channel playback only! NO surround sound). As you can see from the pics, being a fairly recent version, it has a Dynamik power supply and their special "Room Optimization" circuitry to optimize it’s sound for any room.
