EMT TSD 15

For anyone who is interested in trying out an EMT but doesn't want to spend $2000 - here's a relatively cheaper way to try one out. This is a relatively old EMT TSD 15. I am the second owner. I have had it for about 5 years. I don't know the absolute age of the cartridge. It is well played - but plays well. I have just had it retipped for the second time (it has about 50 hours on the latest retip) The retip was performed by Andy Kim at Needle Clinic with a boron micro ridge diamond . Cost of retip was $550. He thoroughly inspected cartridge prior to retip saying it was in good condition.
I have used the EMT exclusively on my Garrard 401 alternating between Ortofon and Schick arms playing through a Shindo system. This was one of my favorite cartridges. So much so that I recently went ahead and purchased the EMT JSD 6 . And, that's why I'm selling the TSD15.
I don't want to pretend that this is just as good as new cartridge - it isn't. But it's going to get you 80% - 90% of the way there. Some people will be completely happy with it's musicality as is (I was) for others this is a good way to try an EMT out - see if it's character suits your system and taste prior to shelling out $2000+ for a new one.
