Ortofon ST-80 SE Moving Coil Step-up Transformer

Transformers are in perfect working order.  Saying 8/10 for safety on exterior condition.  According to Ortofon, the ST-80 is the "perfect match" for the Cadenza series, and on UP the Ortofon cartridge line, for getting the cartridge voltage up to moving magnet levels for inputting to a MM phono stage. Something made me think the turns ratio was 24:1 (producing a gain of 27.6dB), but Ortofon seems to be saying the gain is 27dB. This would correspond to a ratio of approx. 22.4:1.  Assuming you have a 47kohm MM phono stage with the ST-80, your MC cartridge would 'see' a load of 93.8ohms.  You could experiment with loading resistors if you need it lower.  Basically, this is a transformer for possible use with MC cartridges of any brand that have output impedances lower than 9 ohms AND output voltages of .3 millivolts or less.  In the end, your ears are the judge, especially with respect to additional loading.  Conventional wisdom is to keep the length of the interconnect between the transformer and the MM phono stage as short as possible and don't go measuring transformers with a digital multimeter, they don't like it.  This is a good, solid transformer that produces a sound with nice body.  I enjoyed it with a Cadenza Black.  My personal preference is using a transformer over an active moving coil phono stage.
