I am the original owner of these Martin Logan ESL X model speakers in satin. They were purchased less than 2 years ago from an authorized Martin Logan dealer. I have taken very good care of them and they are in excellent condition with no cosmetic issues and have been in a smoke free environment. I enjoyed these so much I am upgrading to another set of Martin Logans. The ESL X (retails $4000 pair) is a big upgrade from the ESL model (retail $2500 pair). The ESLX offers better vertical dispersion, a much larger radiating area, two 8"inch woofers instead of one, bi-wire binding posts, and a larger woofer cabinet. The ESLX model has received many great reviews.

I have all the original boxes, packing materials and manuals.

The ElectroMotion ESL X is an introduction to a new world of high performance audio. Highly efficient, with superbly integrated bass performance, the EM-ESL X will perform admirably with AV receivers as well as high-end amplifiers.

Equipped with a larger XStatTM electrostatic transducer than the EM-ESL, the EM-ESL X has a radiating area over 50in2 larger. Twin 8-inch high-excursion woofers are housed in a surprisingly small, non-resonant asymmetrical bass reflex ported chamber. Dual audiophile- grade, doped-fiber cone woofers, custom designed by MartinLogan’s in-house design and engineering team, optimize cone suspension and the magnetic flux field to produce big bass output with vanishingly low distortion.

The specially developed ElectroMotion XStat MicroPerf electrostatic panel is housed using AirFrameTM Technology. AirFrame technology, a composite of aluminum and composite materials, keeps the electrostatic panel rigid without obstructing playable surface area or interfering with ambience-enriching dipole sound radiation.

Questions for the seller
Just curious. What model are you upgrading to? Esl 9? EsL 11a?
13a.
In your opinion is the ESL X closer to the performance of an ESL 9 CLASSIC. Is the gap closer between those speakers as say going from ESL 9 to impression 11a?
To me, going from the eslx to the 9 is only a half step. The eslx with a powered sub sounds awesome. I was going to step up to the 11a's but stumbled across 13a demos. The 11a's have a powered sub and ARC which the 9's do not. That's why I say that the 9's only seemed like a half step.
