Rotel RSP-1068 Preamplifier, D/A Convertor, Processor

When Rotel released the RSP-1068 it was targeting the hi-end home theater market, however as processor evolved, 2-channel listeners discovered how good these units were for stereo preamplifiers.  While the 1068 has a nice 24-bit / 192 DAC on-board for bringing your CD's or digital music to life, its real beauty lies in the stereo bypass.  The oversized toroidal transformer, large power supply capacitors and heatsinks can accommodate the additional current to play clean.  Even the circuit boards use hi-end glass like that found in the most expensive audio gear.  Its open, dynamic and detailed and would mate well with most amp under $5K.
 
Included is the original and improved RR-1050, programmable and backlit remote.  While the remote and chassis are nearly flawless, the only blemish is on the front plate. Both edges have a very odd stain on the anodizing.  While they are perfectly smooth and free of even fine scratches, the black near the bottom has faded to a light grey.  An easy fix with polish or paint but we left it alone so you could see it.  It appears to be from the white foam it was packed in and matches where it was touching.  Otherwise this unit and remote could almost pass for new.  Its was well cared for.
