Hello. These are original, maybe unique, stacked Quad ESLs
in custom frames. I forget for whom, but I understood that they were made for
the owner of a well-regarded stereo company, I think the company name started
with a B. I don't have serial numbers, because the backs are custom, as you can
see from the images. I originally had one pair of ESLs, but moved to these;
they do offer greater dynamic range paired up. Most of the panels seem to be
working by an informal ear test, but two of the bass panels may be weak or not
working. I have what appears to be a new treble panel in a box (an open factory
box), but I can't make any statements about its condition. (I see several Quad
bass panels on eBay today, so any needed change-out shouldn't be too hard.)
Thee are a few dents in the grilles. I have tried to take pictures of those,
but it is a hard shot to get. I did have these all worked on many years ago,
but I don't remember by whom or when. Someone in the South I think. He was pretty cranky, but did good work. They sound fine, as they would, like
listening to a concert through an open window, and, shamefully I admit, the
inexpensive Radio Shack tweeters do add a certain high end. (All four Quad
tweeter panels ARE working).  No reason I am selling other than getting
older and moving more towards the big Duntechs (I have eight) and one set of
Martin Logan CLS IIs. The Quads can be auditioned in Brunswick, Maine. They
have been used only for classical music and always, in my care at least, for
decades, crossed over with a Velodyne sub, so they have not been over-driven,
bass-wise.
