I had a pair if Snell AIIIs from 1982 and 2002.  I sold them I regret it very much and have sense purchased a pair of Snell AIII and a pair of Snell AII. For twenty years, I thought they could not be bettered.  Yes, there were speakers that could better them in any one category, say imaging, focus, bass response, sound staging, but not one I could find could do all of these things better.  They have a smooth, warming sound from octave to octave and seem well integrated.  Their tonal balance to my ears was just right conveying timbre in a pleasing and accurate manner.  They also were easier to set up in the room because they were designed to be placed nearer to the wall behind them.  This gave much more flexibility in getting good bass response.  I found them to not be as finicky in placement as many other speakers.  On vocals and piano they were just fantastic.  They could also play all kinds of music from classical to rock with aplomb.  I know because I have 6000 records and 6000 CDs of all kinds of music.  

I am selling the pair of SnellAIIs.  I’m moving so I can’t set up both pairs only one pair.

I had the Snell AIIIs shipped from New Hampshire to North Georgia on Uship with Mark this was a van cushioned there was nothing placed on top of the speakers and they were just standing in the van excellent transportation I only paid $300.  Mark’s contact information is 6783787066
