Audio Physic Classic Compact $$$ Price Reduced $$$

For Sale: Audio Physic Classic Compact loudspeakers. I purchased these as "store demo" speakers from an authorized Audio Physic dealer for $1,500. Retail price is $2,000. They look brand new; I see no blemishes whatsoever. As I started listening, it became clear that they had not even been fully broken in yet. So I suspect they were not used much more than taking them out of the box and putting them on stands to look pretty. Dimensions: 6.7" x 9.5" x 12.5". 6.5 kg each.

I have Audio Physic Tempo III floorstanding speakers in my main system, which I adore, and so grabbed these when I had the chance for my den / "man cave" system. Unfortunately, my den is almost cubical in dimensions and I did not anticipate these small speakers could possibly have the low-end that they do. I have never heard a bookshelf speaker with the depth and command of these speakers. They sound like other small speakers I've had -- Celestion 3, Totem Mite -- but with a subwoofer hooked up. In a direct comparison, they seem to have a bit more punch than the generation-older Tempo III. As a piece of engineering, they are truly astounding. But alas, way too much low end for my small cubical space. It may be that I will not do better than my Mites until I have a larger room.

And so, I need to part with these. They are really lovely speakers, in perfect condition, and they come with two sets of grilles -- traditional cloth covered and exposed. Both sets of grilles fits very snugly. As you can see in the photos, they are in marvelous condition -- though the lighting on the black ash finish is not particularly revealing. The eighth photo shows some residue from where there were felt strips on the bottoms, apparently to allow them to slide on a hard surface (bookshelf?). I peeled those off as they do not make a good contact with speaker stands. [No idea why Audio Physic would even include such a thing. Also, I noticed that at least one of the little logo badges seems to be a little bend / not perfectly flat. That's how they arrived, and you have to look very closely, but I wanted to mention it as they only potential defect I can see.
