Six-Pak and 6C45 Gain Stage Produce Superior Mid-Bass Balanced Audio Technology's VK-P6SE improves upon the startlingly good VK-P6 by adding a Special Edition gain stage configuration and the same Six-Pak oil-filled output capacitors employed by the reference VK-P12. A beneficiary of trickle-down engineering, VK-P6SE employs ten tubes in a dual-mono, balanced zero-feedback topology. The Special Edition gain stage employs 6C45 vacuum tubes to achieve improved electrical performance, including more gain and a more open, transparent sound. Dual-mono construction and enormous energy reserves are matched by extensive flexibility in cartridge loading. Enormous Power, Meticulously Designed Circuit Board Allow You to Hear More Exceeding the former VK-P10 phonostage (the model it replaces) in most every respect, VK-P6SE establishes a new benchmark in BAT performance/value ratio. It uses the same heavy-duty chassis found in BAT's top-of-the-line products, while the dual-mono topology starts with two massive toroidal power transformers—the same parts used in BAT's REX II preamplifier. From there, the power goes to massive energy storage reserves worthy of some power amplifiers. The meticulous layout of the large circuit board provides the shortest-possible signal path. Extreme Matching Flexibility and a Deliciously Linear, Open, Textured Sound VK-P6SE employs a differential RIAA network, permitting ease of adjustment and improved common mode noise rejection. Completely passive, this circuit has fewer components than a more traditional implementation. Such benefits translate into improved matching of the RIAA curve to specification. With the BAT Flying RIAA network, you can be assured that all of your records sound the way that the recording engineer intended. Vacuum-tube current sources further improve the linearity and yield a more open, textured sound. Dual 6SN7 vacuum tubes act as current sources for the second gain stage.

8/10 condition, with some scratches on the back of the faceplate fins. Overall presents incredibly well. Tested, and no issues with tubes, or sonics. We're unsure of the hours on the tubes.
