Audio Valve Solaris-DAC

This is a like-new Audiovalve Solaris, with DAC option. It was a floor model at CanJam NYC, 2020. I purchased it directly at the booth. It has a one year warranty that follows the serial number, regardless of owner. They said it had 30-40 hours on it. I've been spending some time with it at home, of course. I feel it will still be under 100 hours. Also, this particular unit has been touched by Zeos himself, from Z Reviews!

Why am I selling it? It's hard choice, as I sit here listening to it. But I've auditioned a handful of other gear and have decided that due to my own taste and limited finances, I am better off sticking with solid state and spending the money on other upgrades.

This is a very clean sounding amp with wonderful imaging. It sounds extremely proper with any kind of instrumental or vocal. Side to side imaging is great, of course, but I have never heard a better sense of front to back, or up and down, in a headphone. The onboard DAC is quite good vs. a handful of external DACs I tried out on it. I think it is well matched to the amp's character. I also appreciate the aesthetics. I thought it would be over the top at first, but it really is stylish in person. Not overly bright in a dark room and commands the correct amount of attention, I feel.

There is one quirk that I only just discovered: The remote volume control is not working. I have e-mailed Helmut and it maybe that we are able to fix it here. I am simply not interested in sending it out for service to get a remote control working on a headphone amp. If you are, it's under full warranty, so you can. I'm selling it as is in that respect. In every other way, it is as close to immaculate as could be expected.
