Aragon 8008 BB

Up for sale is one of my two Aragon 8008BB power amplifiers.

This is the highest end model of the earlier 8000 series from Aragon.  It was designed by Dan D’Agostino of Krell and it has the typical Krell sound – great sound stage, dynamics and bass SLAM.  It is rated at 200W/ch into 8 ohms and 400W/ch into 4 ohms.  To distinguish it from the 8008ST, this model has two toroidal transformers, one for each channel, rather than the ST’s single transformer.  This also has balanced inputs if your preamp has those outputs and can provide for even better signal to noise ratio in certain environments.

The cosmetics is great!  There are no scratches on the front panel at all!  There are some very slight scratches on the right side and the top as I try to depict in the pictures.  However, some of what you see in the pictures are reflections from the lighting.

I have a pair of these amplifiers and going to keep this as a backup but I have decided to thin the herd.

I have the original factory box and packing material and will ship in that but expect shipping charges for a heavy unit – somewhere around 80lbs.

The buyer will receive the shielded power cable that I was planning to use with it.
