McIntosh Laboratory, a world leader in home entertainment systems for
over 50 years, introduces the MC126 Six-Channel Power Amplifier at the
2001 International Consumer Electronics Show. The MC126 delivers 120
watts into 4-ohm loads or 80 watts into 8-ohm loads for a
more-than-respectable output from DolbyÆ Digital and DTSÆ Digital
Surround. The key advantage of the MC126 over other six-channel amps is
that channels one and two, three and four, or five and six can be
operated two ways -either in the normal stereo mode at 120 watts x 6
channels, or with each pair independently bridged for three channels of
275 watts into 8 ohms. Other combinations can also be selected.A
25-pin subminiature ""D"" connector is used for a single cable
connection between the MC126 and an A/V control center. The cable
carries all the audio signals and power control commands to the power
amplifier. In addition, it is equipped with a circuit that provides
remote power control from McIntosh preamps and control centers using an
1/8-inch patch cord to connect the two components. The Power Control Out
on the MC126 delays the power-up of a second amplifier by a fraction of
a second to prevent power circuit overload.Like other McIntosh
amplifiers, the MC126 is well-protected, utilizing several different
circuits, including the exclusive Power Guard that prevents clipping
distortion, and thermal sensors that turn off speakers if an improper
load or ventilation causes the amplifier to overheat. DC protection
ensures against speaker damage.Additional features that distinguish
the MC126 include:- Over 140 Joules of energy storage- Gold-plated
input and output jacks- Gold-plated five-way binding posts- 110dB
A-weighted signal-to-noise ratio- .8V input sensitivity

Questions for the seller
Does this unit have original McIntosh shipping box?
Hello Jim, I do not have the original box.
Can you provide serial number and advise how you ship (container used).
The serial number is TA1010. You can see that on one of the pictures. We would bubble wrap the piece and put two pieces of bubble wrap on the front to protect the glass. Once we had it boxed we would most likely put into another box and put packing material between box 1 and 2. This is how we have done the other two items we have sold and it went very well.
Just need to know what guarantee I have that it works to specs and what return procedure is if I receive it damaged or not functioning to spec. Thank you.
I will give you a bit of background about this piece along with the other pieces that I have sold. We purchased a home in the Austin area last October from the original owners who were in their 70s. The husband passed away but his son was the real estate agent. They kept all of the theater system in place including all of the electronics and manuals. Everything was purchased new by Mr. Miller. Everything works appropriately as we had an audio video team come out to asses our system. We are now changing up the system to meet our needs and selling the pieces that are not needed. I have sold an Storm III sub and a Yahama reciever and shipped them accross the US with no issue. In fact you can see our feedback on [filtered] if you have any questions. We will pack it like I mentioned earlier and send it on to whoever buys the piece. As we discussed yesterday, I generally will get question about this piece every day or so. As far as warranty, We do not offer a return or warranty on this simply because I have no control over when something may break. We will purchase insurance on the shipment just to make sure we all are covered if it is damaged in transit.
