Wright Sound WPL-20

Wright Sound WPL-20 preamplifier with phono section. I have had this for about 16 years. Smoke-free home. I sent it to Roger Hug a few years back and he gave it a full going over and upgraded some of the tubes. I bought this on the recommendation of a friend who is much more knowledgable than I am and am not well versed in tube technology, so I can't tell you exactly what was done. It has been lightly used since Roger serviced it, maybe a couple of hours every other week.
When run with the Wright Sound Mono 8's (which I am also selling) into my Cain & Cain Abby (up for a local sale) there is a slight, but audible, hum. This goes away when music is played. The hum is a bit more pronounced when it is flipped to phono as opposed to source.

The WPL20 is a complete phono and line preamplifier. We’ve taken the best features from our WPP100C phono preamp and WLA12A line amp and coupled them through a shielded DC cord to the separate power supply designed specifically for this unit. The WPL20 is a top of the line performer in the basic chassis style that Wright Sound Company has become known for. The WPL20 is phase correct with a switchable tape loop and phono equalization for RIAA or 78 playback. We’ve used improved framed grid tubes for better performance in the phono section. The unit comes with a single volume control with shunt type balance control; a copper ground plane for lowest possible noise; and a separate power supply for optimum performance. It has a source input gain switch, which allows better matching for a broad level of different sources. Like all Wright Sound products, the WPL20 is low noise, extremely linear, and totally hand-wired to last a lifetime. WPS06 power supply is included.
