Green Mountain Audio Chroma

Green Mountain Chroma (pair) - upgraded version of the highly popular Rio speaker from Roy Johnson (RIP).  
According to Green Mountain Audio:



"Chroma
is the new, very-high performance version of our (also new) Rio II speaker,
selling for US$2995/pair. Specifications remain unchanged compared to original
Rio, although the sound quality is enormously better. A fundamental
breakthrough in speaker design was made back in 2011 and since applied to many
existing Owner's speakers, leaving no time to update our website. Retailers
have the new versions.



"After
forty years of looking for a solution, our designer found a way to extend time
coherence across a very wide frequency range, instead of only in the spectrum
where a tweeter crosses over. This technology we call XTCTM (for eXtended-range
Time Coherence). It was accomplished by changing the values of parts used in
our still-simple crossover circuits, so there was little change in cost.



"Every
speaker always has a low-frequency mechanical time-delay, a delay which begins
around middle-C on the piano and continues to grow as we approach the low bass.
In the bass, the time delay becomes equivalent to the 'woofer' being located
many feet behind the location of the mids and highs. With this delay now
banished from bass to treble, the sound you hear is best described as being a
fully right-brain experience.
