Leopold Stokowski: The Columbia Stereo Recordings

This wonderful box, which graced the market for far too short a time and is now out of print, is invaluable as it documents two distinct phases of Stokowski's career. First there was the return to Philadelphia with Bach, Wagner and de Falla followed shortly thereafter by his unique collaboration with Glenn Gould (Beethoven's "Emperor" Concerto) and the groundbreaking Ives Fourth (both with his New York based American Symphony Orchestra) then a hiatus after which, in London,  came those 6 final marvelous albums.
