Audio Research D-76a

Audio Research D-76A tube stereo amplifier in silver (natural) with the original Audio Research manual and inner and outer boxes. 

I am the second owner and the amp sat in storage for almost 40 years so the original tubes have a lot of life left in them. The tubes are the original NOS (Amperex 12AX7 and GE 6550 Tubes) and are in good working order.  This amp has been stored in its original box and has been used between 100 and 200 hours total over several years. A professional audio tech went through the amp using a Variac and replaced a number of parts that had gone out of spec. 

Fully functional with clean, Audio Research sound, with no hum or distortion - simply a delight to listen. Classic amp that can give a lifelike presentation (big soundstage) to the music. It provides great clarity and dynamics. Check out the pictures. You're not going to find any vintage Audio Research equipment cleaner than this all original D-76A amp. It is in such like new condition that even the original power cord is smooth and flexible.

- There are 17 tubes: Five 6550s (four power and one bias regulator), 8- 6CG/FQ7 (drivers), and 4-12AX7s (phase splitters). With all those tubes and a very clean 75Wpc. 

- Audio Research still supports this amp with some parts (tubes yes, metalwork, no) and even provide links to a user's forum for old ARC gear! Again, Outstanding...    
 
- This was one of the finest tube amps made in the mid 70's and has had exemplary reviews and is still highly sought after today. The build quality is outstanding and weighs over 50 pounds.
