McIntosh MA6500 Integrated Amplifier  Serial # RW1331
2 x 120/200/250 (8/4/2 ohms) Wide Power Bandwidth Width with Ultra-Low Distortion Power Output Meters

In very good condition with almost no discernible cosmetic blemishes.
Meters have 6 brand-new LED bulbs.
User manual and remote included.
This amp belonged to my late father, who had a smoke-free / pet-free home.  Amp has been kept in climate-controlled storage but has been re-tested recently and still functions perfectly.

USA buyers only - no international shipping.
My preference is to sell to someone here in the local Raleigh, North Carolina area.
I do not have the original McIntosh inner/outer shipping cartons/packing materials, but I bought two heavy-duty inner/outer boxes and used using solid styrofoam packing materials wherever possible. No styrofoam peanuts were used. There are cutouts/voids in the packing material so there is no pressure on the knobs, switches or rear terminals.
McIntosh amps like these have all-glass front panels susceptible to cracking during transport, so I have placed 1/4" plywood between the inner box and the first layer of styrofoam to provide additional  protection for the glass faceplate.

Outer box dimensions: 26" W X 25" D X 22" H
Gross Shipping weight: 63 lbs.

UPS Ground /Insurance to most zip codes in the US averages around $250 (per UPS Store quotes).
Beware of listings for similar MA6500 amps with lower shipping weights/smaller dimensions - the amp may not be sufficiently protected during shipping.

Questions for the seller
Just checking to see if you got my offer. Let me know what you think totally get it if it’s not high enough.
Hi - yes - I did get your offer. I just got back into town and need to catch up on some work stuff first. I will get back to you by tomorrow. Regards, Kevin
Hello I live in Los Angeles and am interested but do you think you will be able to ship it safely?
Hi, I spent many hours cutting styrofoam forms and double boxing the amp. There is close to 4" of padding front and back - where the protection is needed most. UPS gave me a rough quote of $250 to ship to the zip codes farthest way from me here in NC (e.g. CA) and to insure the contents for $3000. The amp is now enclosed in a cartons and packing material that is more than double the volume / measurements of the amp itself. I would say this amp is about as secure as can be. Now, I have heard that McIntosh can still custom build their proprietary double cartons for their older models (no longer in production) for around $100. If you would prefer that option instead, I would need your commitment to buy the amp and I would require the additional $100 up front so I could order the custom double cartons. Best regards, Kevin
How old is this amplifier ?
Hi Paul - unfortunately I could find no paperwork in my late father's papers, but I do recall seeing this amp at my father's large house in early 2012 (before he downsized into a smaller condo later that year). The serial number is RW1331, so possibly the folks at McIntosh Labs may be able to help you determine the age. If not, perhaps there is an aficianado site that could help. You might try McIntoshaudio.com. I've spoken to Tom there a couple of times. [email protected] Regardless, there's nothing about my father's amp that makes it appears old or dated. These amps are built with the intention of lasting a lifetime. I just replaced the old mini incandescent meter bulbs with LED lamps - a painstaking multi-hour process! I re-tested the amp with an FM tuner and a McIntosh CD player (since sold), and all seemed fine.
