Tandberg TCD-440a

Here is an audio classic, the Tandberg 440A Cassette Deck. I have owned this deck for about 17 years with little use. In 2002 and 2003, this deck was reworked by the pre-eminent Tandberg specialists, The Soundsmith, in Peekskill, NY. In wonderful cosmetic and mechanical condition, the wood sides show a little wear, particularly the left front corner. If you know The Soundsmith, you know their work is impeccable.  Yes, that was a few years ago but their work is unmatched and this deck has had only a few hours of use since that work. While the RCA connectors might require some cleaning, you will be very pleased with this deck. Included are the stands that allow the deck to be placed vertically. Also included is an original owner's manual. The deck comes from a pet and smoke free environment. I have loved and collected Tandberg equipment for many years. They are beautiful to look at, extraordinary to listen to... and frustrating to repair. That's why The Soundsmith has worked on all my Tandberg gear. No refunds. Sold as is. Because of the delicate nature of Tandberg equipment, I would prefer local pick up. I am willing to drive 25 miles to meet you.
