We were particularly interested in amplifier participation in the test because the British audio press awarded this newbie as Model of the Year (of course, among the new models in the UK market). It seems that the C340 was conceived by the company to repeat the success of the legendary 3020 amplifier, from which the story of NAD began. And it was done concerning with the light of experience and new trends such as a monitor circuit for the load resistance (ISC), the control operation of the output stage. In addition, the C340 maintain the traditional proprietary mode soft limit, but the new design of its activation is accompanied by an illuminated LED. Now you always know what mode work, which is important, since the mode switch located on the rear panel. In addition to the tone controls, which may be excluded from the sound path if you want to, the amplifier provides the inclusion in the amplification path external processor or equalizer. This is ensured by the presence of an external (bridges) connecting the output of the preamplifier to the input of the power amplifier. Amplifier allows you to select one of the connected set of speakers directly from the console.

NAD draws familiar, well known Symphony Orchestra spirit. Giving them the depth of the scene allows easily accommodation the entire performers list, without disturbing the neighbors. However, this freedom ends. Clear tracking of every little space goes a useful framework and does not relax completely carried away by the performers and the music. Therefore, the sound felt a little tension caused by constant supervision. C340, as it "holds" the orchestra, doesn't allow even for a bit to get the intended road. But at the same time such a guardianship resembles a caring parent's hand: the sound sometimes gets subtle shades. The downside of this guardianship little noticeable decreases transparency trebles under the pressure of a symphony orchestra. Amplifier output power was not enough to speaker decreased sensitivity. Therefore, when choosing speakers you better to try paying special attention to the sensitivity.
