Opera Callas Monitors - AMAZING SPEAKERS AMAZING PRICE!

Listen up: these are GREAT speaker. Period. No way you're finding a better pair at anywhere near this price. No way.

A pair of Opera Callas Monitors. A fabulous accurate performer with a very large soundstage and excellent imaging. Sweet midrange and great extension, especially low end for a monitor to 32 Hz! I've found that they are easier to drive than expected by specs - my VPI 299d sounds great with them in Triode at 20 wpc. They respond to better electronics with ever better performance.

There're a confusing number of versions of the Callas all with the same name! Not sure what the point of that is(!), but these are their best reviewed iteration. See the attached review from Stereophile. I think it's very accurate. https://www.stereophile.com/content/opera-callas-loudspeaker

I've really loved having them for the last 5 years or so, but got the itch to move to floor standers and have a pair Devore Super Nines on the way. So these are up for sale.

One has a couple of pictured dings on one upper side (the lower other side is a play of light and has no defect) and a tear in the leather face - also pictured. The tear's not really visible with the grill in place and the digs aren't visible at all from the listening seat. Damage is cosmetic only without impact to sound, function, cones, etc. I don't see or notice it at all in day to day use.

I made the stands (and the cabinet - but out of maple) myself. They have beautiful center cut myrtlewood (California Laurel) platforms (2" top and 3" bottom), MDF sand filled columns and threaded/adjustable EdenSound terrastone and brass spike footers. They're not included, but I'm willing to consider selling them - pick up only, I definitely won't ship these stands....
