Mark Levinson No. 331 Dual-Mono Stereo Amplifier.
If you are looking, you probably already know this is one of the most highly regarded amplifiers in audio history.
It's a beast at over 100 pounds. Rated at 100 watts per channel at 8 ohms and doubling and doubling again at 4 and 2 ohms respectively.
Amp is 100% original and never modified. Just checked out by Pyramid Audio, one of two authorized Levinson Service Centers in the USA.

Original Owners booklet included.
Power cord included.
Original Mark Levinson outer shipping Box (in pretty rough shape--so I will include another outer box)

Here is what Stereophile said of the #331:
"The Mark Levinson No.331 has a neutral, grainless midrange that allows it to develop the soundstaging and depth that I found lacking in the No.27.5. As a result, the No.331 is the best-sounding Mark Levinson dual-monaural amplifier I've heard. Its ability to breathe life into loudspeakers in the form of extended, neutral midrange and highs is very good news for Quad ESL-63 lovers. Never have my Quads sounded better. This mix works well for dynamic loudspeaker systems as well, as shown by the No.331's ability to function superbly as either a subwoofer amplifier or as a midrange/tweeter amplifier in the full-range, bi-amplified Snell Type A Reference System...
The No.331's build quality is up to the highest standard found in high-end products today. This amplifier's sonics, superb parts quality, overkill power supply, reduced price compared with its predecessor, and five-year warranty offer its owner lots of value for the money, and bring a Class A recommendation from me. The Mark Levinson No.331 should be auditioned by anyone in the market for a topflight, solid-state, 100Wpc stereo amplifier."
Questions for the seller |
---|
How old is this unit? No cap replacements or anything due to age. I know they will be expensive, my 23.5 was over $2,000..Thanks! Hi Phillip,
I don't know the exact age. The Serial number my give an idea as to where this one is in the production run.
The unit is 100% original, including the Capacitors. I took the unit to Pyramid Audio-- they checked it out and gave it a clean bill of health. They did quote a full renovation at $1200-$1500. But stated that there is no cause to do so other than pro-active for age and that many people prefer these amps to be 100% original and then they can make the personal choice of what, when and how to update.
Hope this helps.
