About me: I'm an audiophile and Acoustic Engineer. I bought 3 BRAND NEW units of the I-QUAL IQ-1300A during my last trip to Japan, which one of these three I use on my superb ANVIL Turntable, as you can see it on some photos. I WILL SELL THE OTHER TWO UNITS IN BRAND NEW CONDITION, BECAUSE I DON'T NEED TO KEEP THEM AS "SPARE", AS THIS PRODUCT IS EXTREMELY WELL MADE!

This list is for a BRAND NEW, OUTSTANDING VACUUM DISC MAT, manufactured in limited quantities by I-QUAL (a sister Company of I-teqx Corporation),  hand made in Japan by skilled technicians. Their pride of manufacturing is implemented in the catalog VACUUM DISK MATE IQ 1300A as text “Made in Niigata” instead of "Made in Japan".

Each company in Tsubame city (Niigata, JAPAN) have the expertise of precise manufacturing.

It reminds the excellent Vacuum MAT manufactured by Audio-Technica (AT-666) many years ago, although the I-Qual IQ-1300A is directioned to audiophiles in search for a HI-END product!

In fact, I-QUAL produces the vacuum mat for Tech-DAS TURNTABLES, that are, may be, the BEST turntables in the world! (please click the last photo of the one of the Tech-DAS turntables equipped with the I-QUAL magnesium vacuum disc, although made with an advanced motor pump.

Some details of the I-QUAL IQ-1300A Vacuum MAT:

1) The main body of the disc is made of pure magnesium. The other side of the mat is covered with butyl rubber for a perfect adherence to the turntable platter.

As you know, magnesium is the most vibration-absorbing material in metals. It is also excellent as a mere platter mat. Moreover, because it is lightweight, it has a thickness of about 7 mm. The weight is 660 g, and it is adapted to a wide range of players.

2) To activate the vacuum suction hold down after placing the record on the magnesium disc is by simply placing the supplied ‘suction collar’ into the spindle of the platter. (That suction collar was connected to the supplied ‘auto disc suction box’, which contained a mini air suction pump, with the supplied rubber hose).

3) In the event of the record being too warped, the I-QUAL IQ-1300A is supplied with an ‘absorption adapter’ which is a metal disc of 980 grams in weight, and 313 mm in diameter with a centre hole of 52 mm in diameter for the placement of the suction collar, to act as a weight to flatten that most severe warped record. The other side of this black metal disc, which will be in contact with the warped LP, is covered with felt to protect the LP to be flattened.

4) You apply a bit of pressure with two fingers on the suction collar as it sits on the spindle. Then, you activate the mini pump in the auto disc suction box. A red light at that box will light up with the pump being activated. When the ‘auto suction’ is completed in about 30 plus seconds, the red light and the pump will shut off.

5) Now, the suction collar will be tightly held onto the spindle. Therefore, a bit of force is needed to remove the suction collar with the other hand holding down the record. The whole process would take no more than a minute.

6) If necessary, repeat one more time as explained on item 4) for a more precise adherence of the LP into the magnesium disc.

7) To remove the record, simply put the tip of your fingers in between the outer edge of the record and the outer edge of the rubber end at the magnesium disc. DS Exports have prepared a video on how to use the product at this YOUTUBE link:

10) For best results, keep the magnesium disk and the outer rubber free of dust. To do it, please clean the magnesium disc and outer rubber with a lint-free cloth embedded on a few drops of isopropyl alcohol.

"Upon activation of the IQ-1300A vacuum suction hold down with the record, “Winds of War and Peace” (Wilson Audiophile Recordings), the whole background went (much) darker and quieter in comparison. The clicks and pops went softer and less irritating. The background hiss went further back into the background.

I found the soundstage to have greater depth and spaciousness. Here, the musicians and their respective instruments were better detailed, textured, layered, separated, defined, articulated and fleshed out. They stood out better from a dark and quiet background.

The bass was more detailed, dimensional, cleaner, articulated, heavier, extended and impactful. Suddenly, I found there were layers upon layers of low bass with certain details rushing at me before the decay was even completed.
